Commercial Leadership. Ownership Perspective. Lasting Value
I help owners of founder-led B2B companies improve business performance by addressing commercial, leadership, and organizational challenges.
My perspective comes from nearly three decades helping build a manufacturing technology company—from a small U.S. business into an international organization—while serving in executive leadership and as a minority shareholder.
That experience taught me that lasting Value comes not simply from solving today's problems, but from developing the people, processes, and organizational capabilities needed to sustain tomorrow's performance.
Experience That Shapes My Perspective
Growing a business brings challenges that aren't always apparent when the organization is smaller. The people, processes, and leadership practices that contributed to early success may become constraints as the business grows.
During nearly three decades at RJG, I experienced those challenges firsthand. My responsibilities in commercial leadership, combined with my perspective as a minority shareholder, taught me to evaluate decisions through both operational and ownership lenses.
I learned the importance of protecting profitability, building capable leaders, establishing organizational discipline, and creating systems that allow a business to grow without becoming increasingly dependent on a few individuals.
Perhaps most importantly, I learned that sustainable improvement requires more than identifying what needs to change. It requires helping people understand why change matters, developing their ability to execute, and establishing the discipline to sustain progress.
Working Alongside Owners and Leaders
I believe meaningful improvement begins with understanding the people and the business—not arriving with predetermined solutions.
I work alongside owners and leadership teams to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and identify opportunities to improve performance. That requires respecting the experience and accomplishments of the people involved while being willing to address difficult issues when necessary.
My goal isn't to become another person the organization depends on. It's to help leaders develop the judgment, confidence, and discipline to make better decisions and take greater ownership of results.
I measure success not only by the improvements achieved during an engagement, but by the capabilities the organization retains after my involvement ends.
If you're facing challenges with profitability, commercial performance, leadership, or organizational execution, I'd welcome a conversation about your business, what you'd like to improve, and whether my experience could be of Value.
